1. PURPOSE
The purpose of generating this Method Statement is to define the procedure step by step to implement the correct practices for Installation of Electrical Water Heater through the guide line contained herein so as to ensure that the job execution complies with the requirements and serves the intended function to satisfactory level.
2. SCOPE
This Method Statement refers to various work procedures contained within project control documents, which explains and covers the Installation of Electrical Water Heater
3. RESPONSIBILITIES
Plumbing Engineer In-charge (Plumbing) / Site Engineer (Plumbing).
4. TOOLS / EQUIPMENTS
4.1. Portable hand tools.
4.2. Spirit Level / Level Threads
4.3. Drill Machine / Hammering Machine
4.4. Step Ladder.
5. MATERIALS
Electrical Water Heater and accessories shall be in line with the approved material submittal.
6. HANDLING & STORAGE
6.1. On receipt of the Electrical Water Heater and accessories at site, shall be off-loaded carefully at site using necessary manpower and required equipment to ensure that no damage is caused to the materials necessary precautions shall be taken for unloading, shifting & storage.
6.2. All Packages for the Electrical Water Heater reaching to site shall be identified as per package list.
6.3. The Electric Water Heaters shall be preferably shifted directly to its location for installation. In case the House Keeping Pad / Foundation is not ready the Electric Water Heaters will be stored in site stores as per manufacturer instruction.
6.4. All Packages for the Electrical Water Heater reaching to site shall be identified as per package list.
6.5. The Electric Water Heaters will be checked to ensure that it complies with the approved material submittals in terms of make, model, type, capacity etc.
6.6. Any discrepancies, damage etc., found will be notified and reported for further action.
6.7. Site Engineer (Plumbing) has to ensure that all Water Heater used at site are of free from any damage or deformity of any kind. Material found not suitable for site use will be removed immediately from site and the same will be replaced by correct item.
6.8. All packages shall be stored under protected dust area, till the Electrical Water Heater is shifted for installation
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE FOR ELECTRICAL WATER HEATER
7.1 Ensure all civil works are completed for the area of installation, and clearance is obtained from respective authorities to proceed further.
7.2 Prior to start the installation, refer to the approved shop drawings related to the area of installation and ensure that required materials are available at site as per approved material submittals.
7.3 Ensure the materials are stored properly and there is no mark of damage or deformity of any kind before issuing the material from site store.
7.4 Approved Electric Water Heaters shall be used for installation purpose.
7.5 Electric Water Heaters shall be installed as shown in the approved shop drawing.
7.6 Electric Water Heaters shall be installed on the House Keeping Pad / Foundation ensuring adequate space is available for valves, piping and for future maintenance.
7.7 Installed Electric Water Heaters shall be offered for inspection.
8. INSPECTION
Inspection will be raised for installation of Electrical Water Heater.
